ChoppedCon Podcast: The Happily-Employed Food Blogger

Apr 8, 2015 · 12 Comments

I’m so honored to share that I was interviewed for the ChoppedCon podcast. The podcast is titled the Happily-Employed Food Blogger, and I could not have come up a better or more fitting title.

Because the thing is, while I absolutely love my blog and do treat it like a business (and spend hours upon hours working on it and improving it) during the day I am happily employed.

I spend my days helping run a small natural products company called True Botanica (our fresh roasted premium coffee is what keeps me going during the long hours) where there’s never a dull moment.

In the interview I talk about how one can find a place of peace and happiness with having both – a full-time job and a professional food blog.

Head on over to the ChoppedCon podcast page for notes and to listen to the podcast!

I just listened Phi! On my morning walk:). It’s amazing to still be finding new (to me) food bloggers after doing this for 5 years. Can’t wait to cruise around your site!

Hello! I listened to this yesterday at work over lunch…I have to say…everything you talked about I could relate to SO much! I loved how you talked about the downsides of blogging, such as the comparisons, etc. That is such a reality. Most of all, I loved how you said that you loved how much you’re learning through this experience. I’m learning something new every day and it seriously drives me to want to learn more! Thanks for the tips about organization too. So glad you were able to share!! Congrats to you! 🙂

Thank you so much for listening and for the super sweet comment Laura, I totally appreciate it! There are definitely some down sides to blogging that sometimes people don’t know about, but I try not to focus on them, and instead focus on the billion amazing things! Being organized is so important, I totally try to keep organized and every once in a while have to reel it in and reassess to make sure I don’t go crazy! Thank you so much again 🙂

Loved listening to the podcast and CONGRATS on the book!!! I can’t wait to see the finished product 🙂 Also, I admire you for keeping up with your blog while working full time. I honestly assumed that you were blogging full time because of how frequently you post. I just have not figured out that secret to mastering balancing all that comes with a food blog and daily life. I’m super pumped to hear it’s possible without ripping out your hair haha!

Thank you so much for the lovely comment and for listening to the podcast! I have found that the one thing that really helps is scheduling, but every once in a while it all piles up still, so balance is always something I try to strive towards as well 🙂
