Ingredients

  • What you'll need:
  • 1/2-3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1-2 Tbs water
  • small bowls
  • spoon for stirring
  • ice cube tray or candy mold you can make them all sorts of fun shapes

Instructions

  • Pour about 1/2 cup of desired sugar into a bowl (I had one bowl that contained just granulated sugar and then another bowl that contained 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup granulated sugar).
  • Using a spoon drip a few drops of water into the bowl containing the sugar. You want the water to be cold, you don't want the sugar to dissolve during this process. Stir sugar and water until it is a thick paste like consistency - adding a few drops here and there (again, you don't want to add too much water otherwise the cubes won't harden.)
  • Fill ice cube tray or mold with paste like sugar-water mixture (I used an ice cube tray and then within each ice cube slot I filled it about 1/2 way up with the sugar-water mixture and then with a butter knife cute it into 4).
  • Let air-dry overnight or up to 24 hrs.
  • Remove sugar cubes from tray or mold carefully and then enjoy!
