Time has just been speeding by and I realized it’s been over a month since I shared my last book review post, so I’m putting two months in this one. Here is everything I read and listened to in the past 2 months (July/August 2023) hope you enjoy, there’s a lot of good ones!

- What I loved about this book is that the story plot line was original and cute for romances, I really enjoyed it! “Noelle Shepard is unemployed, living with her parents, and grieving the loss of her beloved grandmother when she discovers decades-old photos of Gram and a smitten man, tucked alongside a love letter. She creates a TikTok to search for the mystery man, which goes viral, and she’s shocked when his grandson responds—a man who happens to be her high school nemesis, Theo Spencer.Noelle refuses to let Theo’s annoying accomplishments in adulthood—or his sexy smirk—stand in the way of meeting his grandfather and unlocking the secrets he knew about her gram as a young woman. When she learns that their plans to elope were thwarted, Noelle decides to take the honeymoon road trip they planned but never got to carry out. There’s a catch, though: Paul, Theo’s grandfather, asks to come with her, and he insists that Theo join them.”
Hello Beautiful -4.5/5
- I liked the story and it was very well written, I couldn’t put it down, plus it was an Oprah’s book club pick! “William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him—so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it’s as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family’s dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all. With the Padavanos, William experiences a newfound contentment; every moment in their house is filled with loving chaos.

Rosaline Palmer Takes The Cake -4.75/5
- Such a cute book, I listened to this one and loved the narrators voices as well. “Following the recipe is the key to a successful bake. - A nice summer read, seemed a little slow at some points. “Hollis Shaw’s life seems picture-perfect. But after she and Matthew get into a heated argument one snowy morning, he leaves for the airport and is killed in a car accident. - The plot was slightly predictable and the storytelling was repetitive, but it wasn’t a bad book, it just was kind of ok not amazing to me.”Marcus Caster-Rupp has a secret. Tom Lake -5/5
- The writing! Wow, I did not want to stop listening, oh, and Meryl Streep narrates the audio book which is lovely. “In the spring of 2020, Lara’s three daughters return to the family’s orchard in Northern Michigan. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the story of Peter Duke, a famous actor with whom she shared both a stage and a romance years before at a theater company called Tom Lake. As Lara recalls the past, her daughters examine their own lives and relationship with their mother, and are forced to reconsider the world and everything they thought they knew.Tom Lake is a meditation on youthful love, married love, and the lives parents have led before their children were born. Both hopeful and elegiac, it explores what it means to be happy even when the world is falling apart. As in all of her novels, Ann Patchett combines compelling narrative artistry with piercing insights into family dynamics. The result is a rich and luminous story, told with profound intelligence and emotional subtlety, that demonstrates once again why she is one of the most revered and acclaimed literary talents working today.”
Rock Paper Scissors -5/5
- This was a thriller. I don’t read a ton of thrillers but this one knocked me off my seat it was so good. The story unraveled beautifully and I was surprised when it ended, as I wanted to keep reading! “Things have been wrong with Mr. and Mrs. Wright for a long time. When Adam and Amelia win a weekend away to Scotland, it might be just what their marriage needs. Self-confessed workaholic and screenwriter Adam Wright has lived with face blindness his whole life.
