Love List-54; Childhood Foods and Best Wines

In this week’s Love List, I’m sharing a peak into what was eaten practically everyday in my childhood and the team shares a bit about their summer must-haves, best wines and comfy pants for all of those summer road trips.

1. My (European) parents ate/eat a grainy piece of bread with cheese pretty much every day for lunch. It’s what I grew up eating. I still enjoy it thoroughly and get made fun of in a lighthearted way, so when I read The Worlds Happiest People Eat This Every Day I totally laughed and nodded.
2. The bread that I grew up eating is called German Fitness Bread.

   

3. A cookbook that is a travel book/cookbook/inspiration is this beautiful Alpine Cooking one.
4. This embroidered dress has European summer vibes to me and is so beautiful – I can’t decide blue or white!?

Bridget’s Picks

1. I got these beach cup holders before a family vacation to the beach.  I hate when sand gets in my drink and these were a good start at a solution!  Double win; the kids actually also used them as snack cups when we were at the cottage. HA!
2. We are still (if you’ve been reading for awhile, this is has been a LONG process) remodeling our house and I just discovered this program.  I am very bad at imagining what the house/rooms might look like so my husband and I are thinking about using this program to get everything just right.
3. I know that I am incredibly late to the game, but I’m pretty thrifty and $36 always seemed a bit expensive for sunscreen to me, BUT I have to say I’m a believer now.  Supergoop! Glow Screen really is all it’s cracked up to be!

1. I’m a BIG fan of Trader Joe’s and a big fan of wine so I found this fun list of the best wines at Trader Joe’s!
2. Laundry is by far my least favorite household chore so this laundry hacks list was actually pretty interesting!
3. A friend shared this site with me! You can search for trails by city, park or trail name. All the trails are verified and reviewed by others.
4. I ordered these pants in black and they are SO comfy! I wore them for a road trip and they were perfect! They are also moisture wicking and are made of quick dry fabric so they would be great for outdoor stuff too.
5. This has been my favorite dinner lately (I’ve been lazy and resort to frozen meals sometimes!) and I love to add sorghum to it which is similar to quinoa and I also add avocado!

• These luxe gel pens by Poppin have been a favorite, they’re so pretty too and write so well!

• I love a good Sharpie felt tip pen.  I actually got a set of these for a high school graduation gift; I thought it was weird at the time, but now I totally get it!  They write so smoothly and come in tons of fabulous fun colors!
