I’m SO excited to share today’s post! It’s the first official day of summer, and to celebrate the occasion I’ve teamed up with 13 amazing bloggers and we’re EACH hosting a giveaway in honor of summer and to thank our amazing readers.

For me, summer means the start of the Farmers Market season…walking around the Farmers Market seeing local items, and of course that means walking around with a delicious cold coffee drink.

    I try to drink water and turn the fan on. I also make sure I close the windows when the outside temp gets higher than the inside temp since we don’t have airconditioning.

    Where we live it seems to be smoldering hot all summer long, well and practically half of the winter months as well lol. When it gets to miserable, i pack up the hubby and the lil’ one and we go pile up at the river or the beach to cool off.

    In San Francisco we don’t get much heat unfortunately, but we love going to the beach in Santa Cruz for some warm summer days!

    When it gets real ugly hot here in Texas, I get up as early as I can to do anything that has to be done then I do absolutely nothing the rest of the day! The less movement the better. Stay cool!

    I stay in the AC if it’s really bad. If I am out, I try something cold from Starbucks and keep the car’s vents blowing directly at me at a comfortable cooling temp.

    These hot Alabama summers, the only way to stay cool is inside with AC on! But I love to sit outside, so cool beverage that fits my mood for the day and good book or play games on my tablet on the porch is always enjoyable!

    How I beat the sizzling heat I stay cool sitting on the deck, drinking Ice Tea, sometimes with Lemon or Lime, while reading a book. I miss sitting under a big shade tree like I did growing up. I really enjoy doing this on Saturdays after I go for my horse therapy lesson. I almost forgot to say sometimes sitting outside I dose some, lol!!! Thanks for this awesome giveaway!

    I like to take a cool cloth dipped in very diluted lemon juice that I press under the water and rub it over my face it is really cool. To drink a Starbucks peach tea is also a favorite.

    Diet coke with lots of ice and stay inside with the AC. If I am outside I sit in the shade, wear dresses…yeah that is about it. It is really hot here lately.

    I live in Nevada, so it is like 110 here! I actually switched from drinking the hot coffee at Starbucks to the Iced Caramel Coffee with fat free milk! I get it daily to stay cool in this sizzling heat!! 🙂 MMM Thanks for the chance! I would LOVE the cookbook to try new meals and LOVE the Starbucks gift card to get some Iced Coffee!!

    We’re ramping up to beat the heat! One thing I did a while back that I love my past self for every summer – bought a condo with air conditioning! If we didn’t have A/C, there would be many nights when I just wouldn’t be able to sleep because of the heat. Throw in an endless supply of iced coffee, and I’m a happy girl 🙂

    I do the best I can to keep cool. It’s been in the 90s now for a couple of weeks already. I try to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day, drink lots of water and wear thin clothing. If all else fails a nice cool shower helps.

    For certain, my beautiful swimming pool beckons me to play, all summer long. (Well, in winter, too, but brrrrrr… I always kindly say no thank you.) Back dives, twirls, throwing the water up in the air and watching all the diamond-ettes swirl back down for more, sitting in a water chair, reading a cookbook or novel, doing water aerobics with my daughter-in-law four days a week…. That’s how I stay cool – and why I love summer’s heated months! Do you like to play in the pool?

    I feel so fortunate to live near the lake, so I get a beautiful breeze in my place. It’s also a lovely area in which to run. Evenings, of course are combatted by iced tea or chilled wine on the patio. I love summer… 🙂
    And, as you mentioned, the farm market pops open every Saturday. So nice to walk over (except in bee season!) and buy some fresh produce and flowers!

    Well, I’m a bit of a weenie when it comes to heat! I’m happy staying in my house with the air-conditioner and an iced coffee!

    I beat the heat with a dip in any body of water – the fresher the better – Gulf of Mexico, fresh water spring, or the YMCA pool if needed…
