Since my Sweet Sunday series is all about sharing things I love, I’m going to tell you guys all about my shopping experience at the nation’s leading low priced grocery store, ALDI, and as the title of this post says…you can really find it all {and save money} by shopping at ALDI!
I’ve been a long time customer of ALDI, starting way back in college when my best friend and I used to shop there because it was the cheapest option and we had no money. After college I moved around and luckily always lived near an ALDI so I continued to shop there (ALDI has over 1300 stores in 32 states).
The first fun thing to point out about ALDI is that they were ‘green’ before being ‘green’ was cool. You see this in the fact that you need a quarter for a shopping cart, and you use your own bags, yay environment. I love the sign they have above the shopping carts ‘Deposit a quarter for a shopping cart and get it back on your way out. Parking lots stay uncluttered and you’ll help us save you money.’ And it’s true! You never see shopping carts cluttering the parking lot taking up spaces or bumping into your car!
The next thing I love about ALDI’s is their weekly Sale Ads. On top of their prices being well below that over regular grocery stores, they have weekly Sales Ads. The Ads can be found on their website or on their mobile app, but if you don’t have a chance to get them online, not a problem, they have them on display as you walk into the store, and then as you are leaving you can get a preview for the next weeks’ sales!
I love the little ‘ALDI truth’s’ they have on their ads and on signs in the store, this weeks’ ALDI truth “we always offer mouth-watering food at jaw dropping price” so true…and because the prices are so low you can try all sorts fun foods!
On top of the low prices they have a Double Guarantee:
“At ALDI, we believe that we have the best quality products out there. We’ve designed and tested our brands to exceed the national brands in taste and quality. We’re so confident in our products that every item in our stores is backed by our unbeatable Double Guarantee. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money.”
Cute little story: after a horrible 15 hours of traveling to BlogHer Food in Miami I (along with all conference participants) was greeted at the front desk of the hotel with a bottle of wine from ALDI who just so happened to be sponsor of the conference. Then I went to a pairing party that ALDI hosted and was introduced to some additional delicious ALDI products (like their chocolate…you guys seriously HAVE to go buy their chocolate, it is hands-down some of the best chocolate I have EVER had!!)
The selection at ALDI is phenomenal! While 90% of the products in the stores is ALDI-exclusive brands (my favorite of which is ‘Fit & Active’, sprinkled in are national brands. But when talking about fresh fruits and veggies, does it really matter?
But honestly, not only can you find it all at ALDI, the prices just cannot be beat…see the shopping cart below? All that cost me $60!!
Do you shop at ALDI?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE visiting new markets. We go to about five different grocery stores each time we travel. This looks like a great place to save money! I wish I could visit!

Phi, I love your comment about aldi been green before it’s time —-with the carts and the bags—At Christmas time here in the North the Aldi’s in Rhinelander and it started with one of the costumers –gave her cart to another person and told them to pass it on—-really don’t know how many people used that cart for a quarter. Love Aldi’s and enjoy shopping there —-Phi tell them to build one Eagle River, Wi
Take Care—Love ya, Rita

I’ve never been to an ALDI store … they were never by where we lived but now that we moved there is one that’s fairly close. I need to check it out sometime!

I haven’t been to an Aldi in a long time, late 90s I think. In fact, I’ve only been to the Platteville location because that’s where I would buy butter for my grandma. Everything else came from a regular grocery store but she insisted on getting her butter from Aldi 🙂 Now I’m curious if Aldi exists down here in South Florida.

Your grandma was definitely onto something…their butter is so cheap 🙂 !! I hope they have a store near you, it’s really fun to try a bunch of different products and save $$ 🙂

I recently decided to try ALDI and I love it! Now I can’t live without the queso fresco, gourmet lettuce 4-packs…orange almond chocolate…my list goes on and on. I love finding such great food and staying within my budget.
