All this talk about herbs from the Botanical Paperworks Giveaway that I just had to share this truly amazing recipe for Basil Beer Bread. The fresh basil and crunchy crust… all around delicious! This bread is perfect for dipping or alone.
I had always seen beer bread in mixes so I wanted to see if I could make it without a mix, I think when you make this you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to make.
- 3 Cups Flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 2 Tbs Sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Can Beer (12 oz – I used a can of Miller highlife)
- 1/2 stick butter, melted
- 1/4 Cup fresh Basil, chopped
- Preheat oven to 375. Line a baking rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl combine the first 4 ingredients and stir. Add the beer and basil and stir. Spoon it onto the lined baking sheet into the form of an oval. Pour the melted butter over it. Bake for 1 hour, let cool for 15 minutes, cut and enjoy!
Hope you guys had fun in Kentucky going to make the basil beer bread with the pork tenderloin and peachs —- we love anything with balsamic vinegar.
Love You, Rita
