If you’ve followed my book reviews for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed something about me…I am a sucker for a good coffee moment. Not just someone drinking coffee. I’m talking about the little moments that make you smile: when he remembers her coffee order, surprises her with an iced coffee, writes a note on her coffee cup, or quietly brings her coffee just because. There’s something so sweet about those small, thoughtful gestures. Maybe it’s because I’m an iced coffee lover myself, but those scenes always stand out to me long after I’ve finished the book. So I started keeping track (because I’m a dork lol). This is my growing list of romance books with the sweetest coffee moments. Every time I read another book that earns a spot here, I’ll come back and add it!
What counts as a “coffee moment?”
For me, it’s never really about the coffee. It’s about the thought behind it. Some of my favorite coffee moments include:
- He remembers her coffee order.
- He surprises her with her favorite iced coffee.
- He writes little messages on her coffee cup.
- He brings her coffee without being asked.
- They have quiet conversations over coffee.
- Coffee becomes their little love language.
If that makes your heart melt too…welcome. You’re my people.
Summer in the city
- My rating 5/5
- He’s v rich and buys her her fave chain of cafe’s so she can have her favorite pastry and coffee for work. The romance hits so many good notes. “I didn’t fall in love with a version of you, I fell in love with every you.” Swoon.
Heartless
- My rating 5/5
- This was reread for me- omg how they meet “panty guy” lol (in a coffee shop). I love how obsessed he is with her. When he makes her more coffee in the morning! I love his dirty mouth! Love that he wears his hat backwards. I loved their conversation at Luke’s party “you don’t want what she’s had, you want more. You deserve more. And I’m going to give it to you.” Daddy Cade, I loved this one lol.
- This is an interconnected standalone.
Fever Dream
- My rating 4.5
- How does Elsie Silver keep writing books this good?! I’m such a huge fan, and this one was no exception. Emmet was everything—sweet, goofy, flirty, and such a safe place for Julia. Julia’s plants, her coffee obsession, and yes… pineapple with eggs? Somehow they made me want to try it lol. I loved these two together, loved how gentle and caring Emmet was, and the whole book just made me happy.
Bourbon & Proof
- My rating 4.5/5
- I love that she gets under his skin when she calls him daddy. Oh!My!God when he says “I’m going to ask you a question and you’re going to say yes” swooon! And I love how much of a hard time she always gives him. And the daddy thing lol!!!! Morally gray MMC, age gap, fake marriage, best friends brother. Most unhinged thing with the panties but I was so curious, like that did he do with 5 years worth, but he explained it in a hot way! Love how she likes her coffee- cream with a bit of honey. I like that she says “you’re so obsessed with me” because he is! I love how he brings her coffee in the mornings! It got verrrry dirty and spicy after about 30% and then stayed that way. I didn’t love the whole foxes den (cute name but gross business I thought). Liked how there was no 3rd act breakup. I just didn’t love the ‘club’ aspect at the very end. This is part of a series I think I’ve read one of the other books, you don’t need to read them in order, this is a great standalone.
Rumors & Whiskey
- My rating 4/5
- The audiobook cast was fantastic and really brought this story to life. I loved that the characters were a little older—she’s 35!—and the hero being a jeweler… and then some… was such a fun surprise. He was wildly handsome, completely gone for her, and every time he called her “baby” it was in the sweetest, sexiest moments. Him asking her sisters how she takes her iced coffee? I melted.
In Her Own League
- My rating 4/5
- Love that they’re older and how she always gets her nails done. I like how he bit her butt the first time they did it. Love how he made her coffee and loved her coffee order, cream and a little brown sugar- how I like mine LOL. Ending was cute, love in the epilogue how she’s always beating him to big moments.
It Seemed Like A Good Idea
- My rating 4/5
- Love their backstory- love her tattoos. Love how they are so attracted to each other. Small town romance, one bed. “In the world’s most necessary kiss” hot. Love how they use lavender in the bedroom and their DIY sex toys lol. Love that her and her grandma hate muffins. Love how she says “I can clean coffee cups in the afternoon instead of the morning. Yay. But the possibility brings me no joy” when they break up 😂 the origami, especially at the end 😭 so beautiful. This was a fun one, good steamy parts.
Make The Play
- My rating 4/5
- Why is this book So much better than book 1?! I was about to jump ship because I don’t like series usually, but I was buddy reading with a friend! Their banter is so good. Love how he makes things into devastatingly sweet moments. Love how much he cares!!! All the flowers and coffee? Yessss! Love when she says “you’re my cringe” and he goes “you’re my goal, my reward, my….” Lol. I love that he wants all versions of her, that was so sweet and how he kept showing up for her. Meadows weddings, toooo funny, and what a sweet epilogue.
- Interconnected standalone, you don’t need to read the other books to know what’s going on.
Crave Me
- My rating 3/5
- If you like a man who’s very much in charge, a little praise kink, and lots of spice, this book is probably for you. It’s definitely hot from the start. I loved what he wrote on the side of her coffee cups. 😭 Those little moments got me every time.
Poetry by Dead Men
- My rating 3/5
- Her ex makes her feel bad about how she take her coffee- byeeee. I just got done with a book that had time travel in it so I was kind of annoyed at the back and forth time lines, like one in the past and one current. It wasn’t as annoying as time travel though lol. It was just jumpy, like a scene would abruptly be interrupted by a jump to the past and then pick back up in the next chapter. I didn’t think it needed that twist with the heart transplant. I wish there would have been more spice and an epilogue, I wanted more of the good stuff. But it was cute how he was bringing her back through her fave coffee.
Did I miss one? Tell me your favorite romance book with a memorable coffee scene—I always need another book recommendation.

Oooh, thanks for the list! I added them to my TBR list.
And speaking of coffee moments: hubby brings me coffee in bed several times a week. One of our cats almost always comes with him, so we call it “Coffee and Cat Delivery.” It’s the best!
