Traveling with kids is an adventure in itself. Between packing the bags, getting to the airport, and keeping everyone happy on the flight, it can feel like a logistical marathon. On our last trip, I stumbled upon something that made the “keeping everyone happy” part a whole lot easier: Snackle Boxes. You’ve probably seen them floating around online -tackle box-style snack containers – but for our trip, I made them travel friendly, kid-approved, and full of variety. And … it was a total game changer.
What’s a Snackle Box?
Think of it like a lunchbox, but more fun. It’s a divided container (I ordered mine from Amazon – they even came with cute name labels!) that you fill with different bite-sized snacks. The beauty? Everything’s in one place, perfectly portioned, and – most importantly – sealed until you decide it’s snack time.
How We Made Ours for the Flight
I let each of my four kids pick two snacks. That gave us eight different options total, and everyone was excited about getting their say. We hit the snack aisle and came home with:
Oreos (mini and vanilla)
Goldfish
Hershey’s Kisses and snack-size bars
Koala Bears with chocolate filling
Peach rings
Gummy worms
Gummy bears
Once we had our loot, each kid got to fill their own Snackle Box however they wanted—mixing and matching for their dream combo.

The Secret to Maximum Fun
Here’s the trick: I didn’t let them open their boxes until we were up in the air. That moment when they finally flipped the lids? You’d think I’d handed them each a treasure chest. It kept them busy (and happy!) for nearly an hour – which, in airplane time, is priceless.
Why I’m Obsessed with Snackle Boxes Now
It’s customizable – picky eaters can fill it with their favorites.
It’s contained – no reaching into crinkly bags or spilling snacks everywhere.
It’s a built-in activity – kids love being involved in the packing process.
It’s reusable – just wash and refill for the next trip.
Pro Tips for Success
Choose snacks that won’t get too melty or crumbly.
Mix sweet and salty for variety.
Use a separate container for anything that could leak (like fruit cups).
For road trips, these are just as great—kids can keep them on their laps and snack without constant “Can you pass me…?” requests.
Next time we fly or travel, Snackle Boxes are absolutely coming with us again. They made travel more fun for the kids, and a little less stressful for me-a win-win.
