I’ve always been such a fan a good turkey burger. Well, turkey burgers were on the menu last night, and the fiance showed me this quick and clean way to make turkey burgers using ‘the big pot method.’ Basically, one uses a big pot to make the turkey burgers in so that the stove doesn’t get messy! Genius!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
1/3 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
1 package wheat buns (Sarah Lee makes 80 calorie ones!)
4 slices American Cheese (I used Weight Watchers cheese because it only has 45 calories per slice.)
Condiments (pickles, ketchup, mustard)
Mix turkey, egg, bread crumbs, and seasonings in a bowl. Optional, add 1 minced garlic clove or 2 tbs chopped onions. Form 4 burgers and put in a big pot to cook. Only use a little bit of olive oil for browning. Heat burgers in pot, about half way through put on lid. When done put piece of cheese on burger, add condiments to bun and enjoy.
