Ingredients for burger seasoning mix

Tips for Success

  • Mix the seasoning thoroughly before adding it to the meat so every bite is evenly flavored.
  • Gently mix the seasoning into the ground meat—overmixing can make burgers tough.
  • Let the seasoned meat rest for 10–15 minutes before cooking if you have time to help the flavors meld.
  • This seasoning also tastes delicious sprinkled over burgers while they’re cooking.
  • Double or triple the recipe if you’re feeding a crowd.

Customizations

  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little heat.
  • Use smoked paprika instead of regular paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • Add onion powder for extra savory depth.
  • Stir in dried parsley for a pop of color.
  • Reduce the brown sugar slightly if you prefer a less sweet seasoning blend.

It depends on how thick you like your burgers, we usually use 1/4lb to 1/3 lb ground been per burger

Hi- you totally could- it’s better if it’s on top because the brown sugar caramelizes as it cooks, but it would be good mixed in too 🙂

I tried this out the other night and it was delicious!
I did make some tweaks to it by adding some Worcestershire sauce to each patty and also adding about a teaspoon of a 6 pepperblend with dill.

What a great question! Yes, it can be stored like any other seasoning. What I do is make a big batch of this (I multiply the recipe by like 8 or 10) and then put it in an empty spice container and label it and store it with my other seasonings, so then when I want a burger I can just use it and have it ready to go!
