In this weeks’ Catching Up With The Kelnhofers we celebrated my birthday, I took the 3 older kids to the grocery store for the first time (it was actually fun!) and we had lots of family meals which the kids helped me cook!
- Tip for going to the grocery store with kids: park near the shopping cart return, on your way out it’s a breeze because you can put the kids in the car and then not worry about walking the cart back or having to navigate a parking lot with kids! I took the 3 older kids to the grocery store all by myself for the first time. The kids were so good and it was fun. They each got a treat (and they all picked things that were packaged in their favorite color -Frankie wanted anything that was pink!
- When the kids got squirrely when it snowed, we did the winter hokey pokey
- The twins are so funny, they love demanding music in the car.
- We had a weekend full of birthday celebrations and I felt truly loved, surrounded by friends and family! First, my parents visited:
- And then we visited the Milwaukee food truck park with friends (you can rent a little private greenhouse!)
What I made this week: birthdays and family dinners
- We had my in-laws over for dinner, I made pork ragu, instead of cooking it in an Instant Pot I just added all the ingredients (minus pasta) into a slow cooker and cooked on low for 8 hrs, it was delicious!
- This 5 ingredient pesto and salmon is so perfect for a quick weeknight meal!
- Tomato and cucumber salad is definitely a dish we make anytime we have family over – it’s such a good side with any meat mains!
- And we made the easiest banana bread (which can easily be made into muffins – only 6 ingredients!!)
