This Cinnamon Hot Chocolate is the perfect warm drink enjoy on those cold days and nights that winter brings, and is made with Pure Via which is a fantastic alternative sweetener that makes this drink sweet, yet not calorie heavy.
Let me tell you guys about the weather here in Milwaukee…WINTER IS COMING! Or, I should say, WINTER IS HERE! All of a sudden it went from a nice and cool and sunny 50 degrees to a cold and dismal 30 degrees with snow flurries! It happened overnight and I feel like I wasn’t prepared. I literally fell out of the door (stupid slippery snow) and it was as if that was universe’s way of telling me ‘it’s winter now.’
And what do I like to do in the winter? I like to drink warm and comforting drinks. But I gotta tell you, I’m not the biggest fan of the calories those drink bring with them. So when I was at Walmart looking for sweetener alternatives to sugar, I came across Pure Via,not only is there a coupon here for $ .55 off ONE (1) Pure Via® Non-GMO, All Natural, Zero Calorie 40 Ct. Packets while supplies last, but, you can take advantage of advantage of a free song and cookbook/songbook download from Jewel here. I mean, it’s Jewel, and winter outside, and I’m sitting here with my hot chocolate, what could be more fitting?
Pure Via is made from the pure, sweet extract of the stevia leaf (no artificial processing or preservatives) and tastes absolutely great! I love that they come in little packets that I just throw in my purse and go, totally helps me navigate my busy day!
So on top of feeling amazing about making a healthy choice by picking Pure Via, I decided to try it in my favorite way of making hot chocolate – which is with cinnamon- and was so excited at how perfectly it turned out. It was exactly what I needed after I had had such a not so great start to my day!
To make the cinnamon hot chocolate you’ll start by laying out all your ingredients (because it is a fairy quick process when you start making your hot chocolate.
You start by warming up some milk
Then you add in your cocoa, cinnamon, and vanilla extract, then you add in Pure Via, then whisk until all combined.
Then you’ll continue gradually stirring until the cocoa starts to boil around the edges.
Then you’ll want to turn off your heat and continue stirring, the hot cocoa will rise to the top of the pot!
Then it will settle and you’ll pour it into two classes, top with a little low calorie topping if desired, and sprinkle with more cinnamon (I mean, c’mon, can there ever be too much cinnamon?) and then you’ll enjoy!
And you know what? My hubby totally enjoyed this comforting drink as well! Cheers to warm drinks on cold nights!

Yum! I usually make my cocoa with a little bit of cayenne pepper. I’ll have to add some cinnamon next time, too! Looks so pretty with the cinnamon sticks 🙂

Mmmm 🙂 The ONLY thing I like about winter is the warm drinks, Christmas movies, and overall Holiday cheer that go with it 😉 The actual winter weather part, I could do without! I haven’t tried Pure Via, but I love Stevia, so I’m sure I’d enjoy it!

Girl, I totally agree, the only thing that’s good about winter is the drinks lol, especially great tasting hot cocoa 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
