If you’ve ever had Marry Me Chicken – that rich, creamy, tomato-garlic dream of a dish – you already know the magic we’re working with here. These Marry Me Meatballs are a fun, family-friendly twist on the viral classic, and legend has it they’re so good they just might inspire a proposal. I’m not saying meatballs can guarantee lifelong commitment… but I am saying that these are the kind of “WOW, you made this?!” meatballs that earn you a whole lot of compliments. They’re incredibly tender (thank you, egg + seasoned breadcrumbs), they simmer in the most delicious creamy tomato wine sauce, and they work with basically any ground poultry: ground chicken or ground turkey – both winners! Serve them over pasta, spoon them on top of mashed potatoes, or pile them next to fluffy rice. However you plate them, this is 100% a “make-again immediately” kind of recipe.
Why You’ll Love These Marry Me Meatballs
They’re inspired by the famous “marry me chicken.” All the same creamy, garlicky, tomato glory – but rolled into tender little meatballs.
Kid-approved, date-night-worthy. My favorite kind of recipe: family-friendly but fancy enough for a special meal.
The sauce is unreal. Bursting cherry tomatoes, white wine, garlic, broth, and cream all simmering together? Heaven.
Works with ground chicken or turkey. I’ve made both versions and honestly can’t pick a favorite.
Pairs with anything. Noodles, rice, mashed potatoes – it’s all perfect.
One pan, simple steps, big flavor. A recipe you can make on a weeknight but also wow guests with.

Tips for Success
Don’t overwork the meat. Mix just until combined so the meatballs stay tender, not dense.
Brown → not fully cooked. Browning gives flavor, but they finish cooking in the sauce.
Let the tomatoes burst. This adds sweetness and deepens the sauce.
Reduce the wine just a bit. A minute or two of simmering concentrates the flavor.
Scrape up those brown bits! When you add the broth, scrape everything off the bottom of the pan — it’s pure flavor.
Simmer the cream gently. It thickens slightly and coats the meatballs beautifully.

Possible Customizations
Swap the wine: Use extra chicken broth if you prefer not to cook with wine – still delicious.
Add spinach: A couple large handfuls stirred in at the end add color and veggies.
Spice it up: Red pepper flakes in the sauce give a subtle kick.
Make it cheesier: A sprinkle of Parmesan at the end = magic.
Breadcrumb swap: Gluten-free breadcrumbs work great too.

These Marry Me Meatballs are one of those rare recipes that feel comforting, elevated, easy, and a little bit special all at the same time. Whether you’re serving them for a cozy Sunday dinner, meal-prepping for the week, or hoping to impress someone, this saucy, tender meatball recipe is always a good idea.

Marry Me Meatballs
Ingredients
For the meatballs
- 1.25 lbs ground chicken or turkey
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs or regular breadcrumbs with 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
For the Sauce
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic crushed
- 1 cup white wine or use chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- heavy pinch of salt
- fresh parsley chopped, for serving, optional
Instructions
- Mix ground chicken or turkey with egg, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and breadcrumbs. Roll into meatballs. I usually use a 1.5 tbs cookie scoop to get them uniform.
- Heat olive oil and brown the meatballs for about 5 minutes. They don’t need to be cooked through yet.
- Now you'll build the sauce. Add cherry tomatoes to the same pan the meatballs are in and cook until they start to burst.
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer a bit.
- Add the crushed garlic, then the chicken broth, scraping up all the flavorful browned bits.
- Stir in the heavy cream and add in the salt (a pinch or two depending on how salty you like things) and simmer gently until the sauce lightly thickens.
- Let everything simmer together until the meatballs are cooked through (about 3 minutes) and the sauce is silky. Don't let the sauce cook down too much, you still want some to enjoy with the meatballs. Sprinkle parsley over meatballs if using.

- Serve and enjoy!

These meatballs look delicious! My personal favorite is Swedish Meatballs that I make in the crock pot using a package of frozen Swedish Meatballs, along with cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, dry onion soup mix, and some steak sauce with sour cream added at the end. Easy and delicious!
