With Wisconsin being the nations’ leading cranberry producing state, it’s no wonder that this Wisconsin trail mix contains dried cranberries!
If you’re anything like me, fall can be super busy – even busier than summer. It’s like everyone and everything has kicked it into high gear and it’s go-go-go… but all you want to do is curl up on the couch and watch the fall lineup (Scandal, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Nashville, anyone?)
So between the busy craziness that has been life lately I decided it was high time I made snacks to get me through, and what better way than with a homemade trail mix?
Trail mixes are such an easy snack to make- simply combine all your ingredients and then you get to enjoy it for days to come. For this Wisconsin trail mix one of the key components are dried cranberries (since WI produces 60 percent of the country’s crop), and then those tart berries go perfectly with sweet chocolate and salty peanuts.
Stealing a line from from Scandal “sit there and watch me choose you” oh delicious trail mix! Happy Five Ingredient Friday!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup dried cherries
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup candied pecans regular pecans are fine too
- 1 1/2 cups dry roasted lightly salted peanuts
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir until combined

Mirella is making trail mix all the time. She has a handful as a snack at work and in the afternoon when she comes back home, as a power booster.
Plus, they’re full of antioxidants AND keep you full.
Craisins is the latest trend here, as they only started selling about 4-5 years ago. Previous to that, they were an unknown ingredient. As soon as we tried them we were hooked!:)
Thank you for another great trail mix alternative I’ll send this one to Mirella right now:)
Have a great day!

This trail mix is one of my favorite snacks!!
