He shared the secret with me. All that’s in this smoothie recipe is three things:
- Yogurt
- Cherries
- Brown sugar
What a genius addition of brown sugar!!

The addition of brown sugar (not a lot, just a little) made this smoothie taste like a shake!! So, if you’re looking for a smoothie recipe that tastes super good – like a milkshake – I’d recommend this cherry smoothie recipe.
And ok, busted, there is actually a 4th ingredient in this smoothie recipe – it’s water. I don’t generally include things like water/salt/pepper in ingredient lists because the assumption is that you have those at your house.
I mentioned earlier in the post that cherries have a lot of health benefits (check out this article about it –> 7 health benefits of cherries) but among my favorite reasons to have kids eat cherries is that it helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle because cherries contain natural forms of melatonin. So if your little one is having trouble sleeping or has been waking up oddly, try cherries. It can’t hurt, right!?
If you’re looking for a quick tip, I like to use this smaller blender I got years ago. It is only $18 and I’ve literally had it for years. Plus, it is much easier to clean than a larger blender. So, bust out whatever blender you have and try this 3 ingredient cherry smoothies recipe.
