Whipped feta is the ultimate creamy, tangy, and versatile spread or dip that comes together in minutes with just two ingredients: feta cheese and cream cheese (or Greek yogurt). It’s smooth, flavorful, and perfect for everything from dipping to spreading. Once you try it, you’ll find yourself making it again and again.
Can we all agree the crumbled feta is a pain to deal with? It just falls off or out of everything. Enter whipped feta. It’s a creamy spread that not only tastes amazing, but that takes anything it’s spread on to the next level.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Quick and Easy: With only two ingredients, it’s ready in 5 minutes flat.
- Versatile: Use it as a dip, a spread, or even a topping for grilled proteins and veggies.
- Customizable: You can easily dress it up with herbs, spices, or other flavor boosters.
- Crowd-Pleasing: Everyone loves a creamy, tangy dip, making it a hit at parties and gatherings.

To make whipped feta, all you need is:
4 oz feta cheese
4 oz cream cheese (or Greek yogurt)
You can make more or less, because you know that the whipped feta recipe is equal parts feta and cream cheese or Greek yogurt.
Tips for Success
- Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure the feta and cream cheese (or Greek yogurt) are at room temperature. This ensures they blend together smoothly and create a creamy texture.
- High-Speed Blender or Food Processor: For the smoothest whipped feta, use a high-speed blender or food processor. Scrape down the sides as needed to ensure everything blends evenly.
- Crumbly Feta: Opt for a block of feta in brine rather than pre-crumbled feta. It has a creamier texture and better flavor.

To make the whipped feta you’ll crumble feta cheese and add it to a food processor (or blender if you don’t have a food processor). Then add the cream cheese and pulse until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Customizations
- Add Herbs: Blend in fresh dill, parsley, or chives for an herby twist.
- Garlic Lovers: Add a clove of roasted or raw garlic for a punch of flavor.
- Citrusy Brightness: A squeeze of lemon juice or a sprinkle of zest brightens up the dip.
- Spicy Kick: A pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot honey adds a touch of heat.
- Earthy Note: Blend in roasted red peppers or a spoonful of sun-dried tomatoes for a Mediterranean vibe.

If you want a more tangy flavor you can add a squeeze of lemon juice.

One of my older recipes for chickpea zucchini burgers includes whipped feta. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to make whipped feta outside of making those burgers. It was actually Nick who made this whipped feta multiple times before I said I just needed to share it here on the blog!

More tips for making whipped feta:
Use a high-quality feta cheese for the best flavor. Look for a feta cheese that’s creamy and tangy, but not too salty. We find ours at a greek specialty store.
Don’t over-mix the whipped feta. Over-mixing can cause the whipped feta to become too smooth and loose its texture. Pulse the mixture a few times to make sure it’s well mixed.
Get creative with your toppings. Whipped feta is delicious on its own, but it’s also a base for other flavors – like fresh herbs, hot honey, evoo or tomatoes
My favorite is whipped feta on a very grainy bread or sourdough topped with cucumbers and fresh dill.
