We recently shared the recipe for a delicious reverse seared steak on the blog. Today, we thought we’d bring it to the next level and share how to make a mushroom pan sauce to bring your steak to a whole new level!
In the very same pan that you’re cooking your steak, you can make an amazing sauce that is the perfect compliment to any cut of meat you choose. Plus, the sauce only takes a few extra minutes that are 100% worth it.
What ingredients do I need for this sauce?
- Mushrooms
- Onion
- Garlic coves
- Red wine
- Heavy cream
- Stock of your choice
- Salt and pepper
How do you make mushroom pan sauce?
- Add mushrooms to the pan your steak is cooking in. Cook until liquids release and it reduces a bit.
- Add 1/2 onion, 2 cloves garlic and cook until onion starts to become translucent and soft. Add 1/2 cup red wine and 1/2 cup preferred stock.
- Reduce. Add 1/4 cup heavy cream. Reduce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spoon on top of steak and enjoy!
