On the go oatmeal cups & toppings are what have been fueling my days and starting my mornings off right lately and today I’m going to share with you not only the on the go oatmeal cups that I’m obsessed with, but the different oatmeal toppings I’ve fallen in love with and how I prepare them to save time in the mornings.
Can we talk about mornings for a second? Mine are insane! It’s like a race against the clock every.single.morning. and I’m left rushing out the door praying/hoping that I have time to have a little something for breakfast. I’m trying to eat healthier, so I want to be mindful of what I’m starting my day off with.
After all, they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right?
You see, in addition to running this blog and everything that goes along with running it as a small business (creating content, recipe development, photography, etc.) I work a very full time job that I love during the week. We recently changed our schedule to start at 7am. That means I have to be AT work, all ready to go … by 7 am! It’s rough. Even though it’s just an hour earlier than my previous start time of 8am, I used to wake up around 5:30 and slowly wake up and get going, probably putzing around the house a little.
Now, I have to wake up and really get going because it is – at minimum – a 30 minute commute to work. As soon as I get up, it’s go time so I’m not late.
I do not have time to sit there and make breakfast.
Enter Bob’s Red Mill on the go oatmeal cups.
They are total breakfast life savers. The oatmeal cups come in four flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Hazelnut, Brown Sugar and Maple, and Classic. All of the oatmeal cups are gluten free and have flax and chia seeds in them. Healthy, nutritious and delicious.
My favorite part (besides that the fact that they’re delish) is that they legit take 1 minute to make in the microwave. 1 minute? Yes, that I can do!!
I’m a huge fan of all the oatmeal cups as they are, but I also love adding some additional toppings. What I like to do is making little topping bags ahead of time, so that in the morning I just heat the oatmeal, and then pour a little snack baggie of toppings on to the oatmeal, stir it, and then go.
Toppings for oatmeal:
- Nuts (I like pecans or almonds)
- Fruit (I like blueberries & bananas)
- Protein powder (I like Bob’s Red Mill Vanilla or Chai Protein Powder – Bob’s Red Mill nutritional boosters)
- Sweetness (toasted coconut flakes or chocolate chips)
Bob’s Red Mill oatmeal cups have been my breakfast go-tos, and I also have to say a big thank you to everyone who always engages with me over on snapchat (username: Sweetphi) when I post my oatmeal cups, I get the most engagement on those snaps, so I know you guys like oatmeal! What do you like putting on your oatmeal?
