Can you grill sweet potatoes? I had no idea…so I tried a regular oven sweet potato fries recipe on the grill, and oh my goodness, these grilled sweet potatoes…they’re the best way I’ve had sweet potatoes! I already love sweet potatoes, but with this grilled sweet potatoes recipe, I feel like I could easily eat a sweet potato every day of my life – you have to try your sweet potatoes grilled!
I’ve been making sweet potato fries for years. I have an amazing recipe in my Five-Ingredient cookbook (page 79) for sweet potato fries in the oven that turn out perfectly every time.

I asked Nick, can one grill sweet potatoes? He was skeptical. He said he didn’t think they’d cook in the middle. But, it was a beautiful day, so we figured we’d give it a try!

Oh my goodness, grilled sweet potatoes are where it’s at. I am so glad we tried it – I don’t think I ever want to cook them any other way!

The best part is that they only take 5 minutes per side to grill! The biggest difference in this recipe is that I cut the potatoes into circles instead of wedges. Other than that, this is the same easy sweet potato recipe that’s from my cookbook!

We’ve been grilling a lot lately. In fact, when we turn on the grill, we grill a whole lot of food! One of my favorite things to grill is these amazing balsamic vegetables that go perfectly on the side of everything.

We have been making lots of grilled meal prep recipes where we grill once, and eat all week. I’ll be sharing a post about it because it’s been so amazing to grill once and eat all week.

Even if you thought you didn’t like sweet potatoes, try them grilled, and your opinion will be changed!

I used to think I only liked sweet potato fries from restaurants, but now I can say I can make my own healthier version!

YAY!!! I too just never even thought of making them any other way than fries, and now I’m obsessed with the grilled version (I put leftovers in burritos!)

Had these tonight and they are amazing! Will definitely be making them again. I did add a little cayenne to them for a little zip.

Oh I love the addition of cayenne, thank you for sharing that feedback!
