I already love sweet potatoes, but with this grilled sweet potatoes recipe, I feel like I could easily eat a sweet potato every day of my life – you have to try your sweet potatoes grilled!

I’ve been making sweet potato fries for years. I have an amazing recipe in my Five-Ingredient cookbook (page 79) for sweet potato fries in the oven that turn out perfectly every time.

How to make the best grilled sweet potatoes
Since I’m confident making sweet potato fries in the oven, I thought trying them on the grill would be great.  I wasn’t actually sure if they would cook through or not.  And if they would, how long would they take? hours? lol

I asked Nick, can one grill sweet potatoes? He was skeptical.  He said he didn’t think they’d cook in the middle.  But, it was a beautiful day, so we figured we’d give it a try!

Oh my goodness, grilled sweet potatoes are where it’s at.  I am so glad we tried it – I don’t think I ever want to cook them any other way!

Grilling sweet potatoes and chicken on the grill

The best part is that they only take 5 minutes per side to grill!  The biggest difference in this recipe is that I cut the potatoes into circles instead of wedges. Other than that, this is the same easy sweet potato recipe that’s from my cookbook!

Meal prep recipes on the grill

We’ve been grilling a lot lately.  In fact, when we turn on the grill, we grill a whole lot of food!  One of my favorite things to grill is these amazing balsamic vegetables that go perfectly on the side of everything.

How to meal prep a week of food on the grill

We have been making lots of grilled meal prep recipes where we grill once, and eat all week. I’ll be sharing a post about it because it’s been so amazing to grill once and eat all week.

Kid approved grilled sweet potatoes
And if you can’t tell by the sneaky hand in the above picture, the kids love them too.  I feel so much better grilling a  healthier potato than serving them french fries all the time.  And don’t get me wrong, we eat those too!

Even if you thought you didn’t like sweet potatoes, try them grilled, and your opinion will be changed!

Had these tonight and they are amazing! Will definitely be making them again. I did add a little cayenne to them for a little zip.
